PM Candle Trio - Baby Powder, Fresh Linen, and White Tea

Patrick Morris is the founder of the Black Owned ‘PM” Candle Line based in Oakland, California. The New Orleans native relocated to California after surviving Hurricane Katrina and fell in love with the city of Oakland. Incorporating his love for minimalism and bold lettering, his candle line presents a modern look with his staple “PM” logo and bold scent names. The classic white candle, clear jar, and black/bronze top trio has a look that everyone can appreciate.

A candle love story.

Raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, PM founder Patrick Morris remembers seeing his mother light candles around the house frequently and grew fond of the candle making business at an early age. Often times waking up to the strong smell of what seemed like exotic fruit when he was kid and the memorable smell of Sage and Lavender as he fell asleep, Patrick found peace in candles. His mother used to say that when you light a candle you set a mood for that portion of your home. Patrick never forgot this and continued to light candles throughout his adult years. After surviving hurricane Katrina, Patrick relocated to Oakland, CA and fell in love with the culture and vibrance of the city. It was there that he decided to create his candle line and ultimately how the ‘PM’ brand came to life.

For Patrick, creating candles is an intimate process. Before deciding on a fragrance, or wax color, he thinks about the vision he sees for each candle… where will the candle be placed, what type of memorable smell should the candle reflect. Once he’s decided, the magic begins. Each candle hand crafted, each scent carefully tested, each surface perfectly even, each wick standing tall. The PM candle is centered around nostalgia, his hope is that when a PM candle is lit, the scent will trigger a happy or peaceful memory for the customer. The personal dedication Patrick and the PM team show to their craft reflects in the quality and service of the brand. I, like most people can appreciate anything artisan, and can’t wait to see what else this brand has in store.
